URBAN DREAM BROKERAGE ACTIVATIONS
Nau mai harere mai… welcome to Urban Dream Brokerage Te Whanganui-a-Tara. UDB has previously assisted and brokered space for over 120 creative projects from 2013. The programme has encouraged the innovative use of vacant retail and public space to creatively build community. In partnership with Wellington City Council we have received a strong mandate to continue our mahi of enlivening our cities streets, strengthening the mauri of our city.
Urban Dream Brokerage is providing a supportive platform for artistic expressions in physical space by connecting private partners to community-minded arts-focused organisations, they also weave an important network in the collective arts. Cultivating this community bolsters and uplifts the practitioners involved, ultimately enriching Te Whanganui a Tara's environment through creative practice. - Jack Gittings - Mouthfull Collective

Whare Tapere are iwi-community 'houses' of storytelling, dance, music and more. Places where community could meet together and enjoy themselves. A space for Māori and Pasifika creatives to meet, share and create collectively, unveiling our cities pūrākau, more information here.

The community was invited to collaborate in public sewing workshops crafting costumes, in the theme of ‘Surrealism’ to be worn by a live band and the public for the grand finale of the project ‘Party of Rare & Unearthly Treasures’

Kei te whakaari ngā kamu waiata o Ngā Wātene Māori o Te Whanganui-a-Tara. The public were free to join for community waiata sing along over four nights throughout June. A wonderful way to showcase the Māori Wardens and warm our winter souls. More information here
